The Artist.

Hello! My name is Grayson Ryan Baca, born 1998 and I'm a queer graphic designer based in Eugene, Oregon. I've been doing freelance graphic design since 2021 and in the following year, I received my Bachelor's degree in Media Studies at the School of Journalism & Communication at the University of Oregon. Born and raised in Southern California, I discovered their love for the Pacific Northwest during primary school and was deadset on calling it home.

I've always been fascinated by new artistic ventures that could challenge me and expand my general creative skillset, with such explorations including digital art, photography, and fiber arts. From being interested in cameras since grade school to going through sketchbooks as a teenager, art has always been a constant in my life, and seeing my work influence people and help others succeed in their own paths is truly what gets me up in the morning. Working with local events and smaller artists has been my main source of work and it gives me the most fulfillment as a designer looking to truly make a difference.

The Story.

It's always fun for me to explain to new people that I got my start in freelance graphic design work through the drag entertainment scene in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. With the pandemic making in-person relationships very difficult, I was able to meet a fantastic group of people online who were all from Texas and did some form of drag. This was a completely new world to me, but it was truly fascinating to me and I needed to learn more.

Upon moving to Texas briefly in 2021, a few of these peers that knew of my creative endeavors wanted to commission me for posters, logos, and other advertising material for their upcoming events. Upon dipping my toes into the world of graphic design and advertising, I immediately fell in love and knew this is where my passion lived. The sparks of validation from seeing my graphic works shared around social media circles and printed around the Fort Worth area sprouted a wildfire of creative inspiration and truly allowed me to further hone my skills and learn as much as I could about what it takes to create impactful media.

I continued to branch out and expand my artistic prowess through university work, social media presence, and personal practice to ensure I was always learning and improving what I could accomplish. Having been able to work in association with the Dallas Stars hockey team, Texas USofA Pageants, and many prominent names within the nationwide drag sphere, I feel blessed to do what I do and it truly feels like I have found my purpose.
